When a friend rings

Do you know you are rich? When you have a friend who rings to ask how you are?

Lisa had many friends when she was younger. She was attractive, was invited everywhere. She was seen in lots of places.

She was so popular that people stopped inviting her to their home. They thought she was too busy.

Then, Lisa wasn’t seen around so much. People got married, bought houses, had kids, took up new jobs. So Lisa stayed home alone. She quit her job.

One night, she’d had enough of empty rooms and endless days and decided to end her life.

But the silent phone rang first. It was Katy her pal from long ago ringing to say hello. Lisa asked Katy to come to dinner next week.

Katy said yes.

Lisa put the phone down.

Make the call.
